Microfilm

Line Scan can covert documents and images to and from Microfilm whether they are on aperture cards, in jackets or on roll film.

When on roll film or in jackets, we can provide these in 16mm or 35mm to suit the document types and can also supply diazo copies of each image.

Microfilm provides a copy of your images which by their nature cannot be edited and can last for up to 500 years when correctly stored. The Microfilm can then either be used as a copy in addition to scanned images, or as a master which could be supplied with a diazo (duplicate copy) as the working copy.

For instance, the Nuclear Industry take copies of documents on both Microfilm and other media allowing their staff the option of digital images in addition to traditional images, which are then provided on disc or hard drive whilst still having the security of the Microfilm images for longevity.

Line Scan can also digitise your existing microfilm, to provide you with a digital copy of your images equivalent to scanning from paper.
